DESCRIPTION:
French, ormolu, bronze & marble cased mantel clock, bell strike, 8-day, depicting a young Spanish explorer, seated in a pensive pose, the dial showing below and flanked by white marble and profuse floral garlands, c1850
CONDITION:
there are chips in the dial near nine and on the right winding hole. Hands are original. Much of the gilding is worn to brass, but the clock is still bright and attractive. Bronze finish on the figure is excellent. Note someone added "S-F" letters to the fast slow adjust on the silk thread suspension. Ht 20"
